Why is the word 'few' considered as adjective of number and not quantity?

Dear Student,

'Few' is an Indefinite Adjective of Number as it is used with only countable nouns like few crackers, few chocolates, few people etc.

It is not an Adjective of Quantity because it is not used with uncountable nouns like milk, water etc. We never say few milk, few water etc.
