why is the word tsunami has t silent.

There is no as such reason for a word to have a silent letter before its spelling with the pronunciation. Instances of the same are: pseudonym, psychology, etc.

once in sri lanka , a person said that mr.t.sunami is coming . so the people of srilanka thought it was a person and they thought of welcoming him . but it was not a person . it was tsunami. this is why it is called as tsunami.
