Why is variation beneficial to the species but not necessarily to the individual?......Request Meritnation Experts to check my answer and provide suitable corrections. Thanks in advance!

Dear student,
I have checked your answer and all the points mentioned by you are correct. However, I am adding some more points so as to add more meaning to your answer:

Variation is necessary for the survival of species as variation makes species more adapted to survive with the changing conditions. At the species level, these variations can make difference at each generation but at the individual level, an organism is not evolving but is ageing. If an individual naturally accumulate variation in his gene composition through mutation or any other source could be harmful. Thus variation at the individual level is not so useful as a person does not evolve by these variations.

Hope this clears your doubt.
Regards.
