Why it is easy to burn a heap of dry grass, conpared to green grass

Heap of green grass contains water in it whereas the heap of dry grass do not have any water content. So the green grass require more heat as it has more ignition temperature. Therefore it is easy to burn heap of dry grass, compared to green grass.

Green leaves contain moisture whereas dry leaves do not contain  moisture as a result, the ignition temperature of green leaves is higher than that of dry leaves. Due to this reason, it is difficult to burn a heap of green leaves but dry leaves catch fire easily.

It is easy to burn heap of dry leaves as compared to green leaves because green leaves have moisture which will hinder its ignition temperature to attain, whereas in the case of dry leaves there is no moisture and thus its ignition temperature can be easily attained.
hope it helps!

The dry grass has comparatively lesser moisture than the green grass.

Green leaves contain more amount of moisture and plant sap compared to dry leaves which lack moisture. So the ignition temperature of dry grass it very less compared to green grass. This is the reason why green grass is difficult to ignite while compared to dry grass.

It is easy to burn a heap of dry grass, compared to green grass because green grass contain some water or you can say contain some moisture and green grass have no water or moisture in it because of this reason ?it is easy to burn a heap of dry grass, compared to green grass.

Because there is no water in dry grass

As there us moisture in the green leaves .This is because leaves does not catches fire.Whereas,in dry leaves there is no moisture

When you try to burn the leaves, the organic compounds in the leaf like cellulose, lignin etc. catch fire at a temperature higher than 100 degree Celsius. This is called the ignition point.

But the ignition point will be reached only after the all the water evaporates because as long as water is there, it will use the heat to evaporate and till it evaporates it will not allow to raise the temperature above 100 degrees Celsius. The heat used up by water for evaporation is called the latent heat of evaporation.

After the water evaporates the temperature will climb up and as soon as ignition point is reached the leaf will burn spontaneously.
