Why it is essential that tRNA binds to both amino acids and mRNA codon during protein synthesis?

tRNA is a adapter molecule, its role is to identify the codon and to bring the animo acid for which that codon code to the mRNA. So to play its role tRNA has to bind with both amino acid and codon on the mRNA.
