Why land holding size is uneconomical in india?
Dear Student,
Answer to your question is as follows :
It is certainly uneconomical, as it leads to division of land. Farmers then put excessive pressure on land trying to attain maximum output. Due to excessive population growth, the farmers had to divide a large agricultural area into smaller parts for continuing farming. They make use of the land to its maximum possible extent by growing several crops throughout the year. They are also completely dependent on small land holdings.
Such farming cannot make use of modern technology and so the output of production is low which do not suffice the needs of the farmers. It, therefore, creates pressure on agricultural land which in due course of time loses fertility.
