why lymph is called fluid matrix ? explain in 5 marks answer.

Lymph is called a fluid matrix because it comprises of lymph plasma (fluid) and lymph corpuscles. Lymph plasma is similar to that of blood plasma except that it has fewer blood proteins, less calcium and phosphorus and high glucose concentration. Lymph corpuscles are floating amoeboid cells which are mostly lymphocytes. Erythrocytes and platelets are absent in lymph. Lymph acts as middleman which transports oxygen, food materials, hormones to the body cells and brings carbon dioxide and other metabolic wastes from the body cells to blood and then finally pours the same into the venous system.
