why magnetic susceptibility has no unit explain how u have decided bismuth , antimony ,water, n2 are diamgnetic while pt, al , ca etc r para u have to speak the reason of this in phy becaz in che up e concept work in phy which work explain

2- why diamegnetic subs has small negative value of magnetism and susceptibility and low value of relative permeability and vice versa for paramagnetic subs explain the reasons

Magnetic susceptibility(χ) is the measure of the material to be magnetised.

(μ/μ0) - 1 =χ
Therefore χ is the dimensionless quantity.

Diamagnetic materials are repelled by a strong magnetic field. The electrons in a diamagnetic material rearrange their orbits slightly creating small persistent currents which oppose the external magnetic field. Two of the strongest diamagnetic materials are graphite and bismuth. antimony, water and N2 are diamagnetic materials.

Paramagnetic materials are weakly attracted by the magnetic filed. magnetic susceptibility is greater than or equal to one.
