Monthly expenditure in urban areas is more as compared to rural areas for determining poverty because the income requirement is more in urban areas than in rural areas. The life style in urban areas is costly and they have to buy each and every thing from the market unlike the rural areas, where people cultivate many kinds of foods for themselves and the life is rural areas is not very costly .
