Why MP cuts AP from its maximum point?

As we know, when AP increases, MP is greater than AP and when AP falls, MP is lesser than AP. It is only at the maximum point of AP, where AP is stable and remains constant. Thus, it is at the topmost point of AP where MP cuts AP.
