Methods for nutrient intake vary, with animals and protists consuming foods that are digested by an internal digestive system, but most plants ingest nutrients directly from the soil through their roots or from the atmosphere.So they are also known as chemical compounds.

Nutrients, basically, mostly comes from organic substances. Although, you can some nutrients from inorganic material but they are trace sometimes. In the chemical point of view, nutrients like protein and carbohydrates are made of organic molecules. They are series of different carbon-carbon chains which actually makes them "organic".SO IT IS KNOWN AS CHEMICAL COMPOUND
