why nylon is used for making carpets, toothbrush bristles and tyres?

Nylon is like silk in appearance. It is strong, lustrous, and flexible. Though it is soft and lustrous, it is very strong.In fact, a nylon thread is stronger than a steel wire. Due to these properties it is used in making toothbrush bristles, tyres and carpets.
