a more appropriate answer would be that land(sand) has a higher specific heat point than water(sea) so it heats up faster than sea water during the day and vice versa.

Its due to sea breeze and land breeze. During sea breeze which takes place at morning, the sea is relatively cold whereas in land it is scortching hot. During land breeze, the land is relatively cool and the sea is warm.
