Why rate of photosynthesis is higher during the day and lower during the night?

Rate of photosynthesis is higher during the day because of the presence of sunlight , and during the process of photosynthesis plants take in carbon dioxide and give out oxygen. During the night , because of the lack of sunlight photosynthesis does not take place.

In the daytime, the plants prepare food in the presence of Sun. They take in Carbon Dioxide (CO2) . This process is called Photosynthesis. In the night time, the plants take in Oxygen (O2) and release Carbon Dioxide. So, the rate of photosynthesis is less during the night and higher during the night.

a plant requires sunlight, water and carbon dioxide to complete the process of photosynthesis. there is no sunlight in the night. so the process of photosynthesis cannot be complete. that is why the rate of photosynthesis is lower during the night and higher during the day.
