Why should we abandon certain traditions?

Its important to abandon such traditions becasue the world is becoming more and more developed and more people are coming to their senses
Certan traditions like abortion of girl child or asking for dowry should be abandoned......its slowly improving though (that is the main reason gender reveal while pregnancy is only illegal in India) 
Forced arranged marriages should be abandoned 
And there are many more traditions (mainly in India because most of india has backward thoughts) that go against human rights and laws but they go unnoticed and should be stopped
