why should we keep religion away from poltics and state?

It is necessary to keep religion away from politics otherwise it would be difficult for a nation to function in a democratic manner.We know that in a country more than one religious group exist and the majority group always try to dominate the minority by taking over the State power.This tyranny of the majority over minority leads to discrimination and prevention of the minorities from practising their religion.

So, it is a violation of the Fundamental Right in a democracy which guarantees equality irrespective of religious diversities.If this equality needs to be maintained and freedom of the people to practise religion be achieved, than religion should be kept away from politics and state.
