why systolic pressure higher than the diastolic pressure in heart

Dear student,

Please find below the solution of your asked query.

The systolic blood pressure is the pressure exerted in the walls of artery during the contraction phase of heart i.e. the heart is actively ejecting blood into the arteries whereas diastolic pressure is the pressure blood exerts within the arteries in between hearbeats during the relaxation phase i.e. when the heart is not actively ejecting blood into the arteries. Therefore the systolic pressure is higher than diastolic pressure in heart.

Hope this solution clears your concept regarding the topic.

Regards.
