why the ammonium ion (NH4+) has a positive charge?

Ammonia NH3 is having one lone pair of electron and it loses one of its electron to H+. This makes the nitrogen atom to have positive charge.
: NH+ H+ -----> NH4+

The ammonium ion is NOT neutral, but has a +1 charge. Ammonia is indeed NH3 and has three bonds and a lone pair on N. When an ammonia molecule combines with a hydrogen ion, which has a net +1 charge, then the resulting ion has a +1 charge. Thus ammonium ion is positively charged.

I think because it loses electrons..
