why the boiling point of ethanol is higher than methanol ?

boiling point of alcohol increases with the increase in number of carbon atoms, because with the increase in the no. of carbon atoms, vander waal forces and surface area of the molecule increases....thereby boiling point increases.
in this case, ethanol is having more no. of carbon atoms as compared to methanol. hence, boiling point of ethanol is higher than methanol.
