Why the girls were not allowed to go to school during the 19th century in India??

Girls were not allowed to go to school during 19th century India due to several reasons a. Women were meant to do household chores only. b. Women education was neglected due to conservative societal norms. c. Outside exposure was not considered feasible for women. d. There was a fear that if women are given education they will start demanding for equal rights and opportunities like men.

Because people were afraid. They feared that school would take away girls from home and prevent them from doing domestic duties. Also girls had to travel through public places to reach school and they thought that this would have a corrupting influence on them. In many parts of the country people believed that if girls were educated she would became a widow.

In 19th century , women were not allowed to go to school due to several reasons. They were made engage in doing household . Women education were negeleted by the people .  They were considered as not brave as much as men . The parents were afraid to send their to school . If the schools were close near the house of the parents , then they allow them to go to school but only few girls were allowed to go to school .
