Why the photocentre gets excited by recieving only red light of wavelength 700nm?

This is because chlorophyll of Photosystem 1 is designed to absorb maximum wavelength of light at 700nm. The chlorophyll dimer of PS 1 can make a conformational change in such a way that best absorbs light at a wavelength of 700nm.
