Why the role of the governor is controversial?

For following reasons it can be concluded that powers of governer is very controversial -
1. Numerous examples of power of governers being abused usually at the behest of ruling party at centre.
2. In several instances bureaucrats identifying themselves with a particular political ideology are appointed as governers which later on control the state government with the help of governers.
3. Favouring a party that has appointed them.Governor’s discretionary powers to invite the leader of the largest party/alliance, post-election, to form the government has often been misused to favour a particular political party.
