why the smell of hot food reaches us in second compared to the the cold food? Why explain

Actually this process occurs due to diffusion of particles.And gases or vapours diffuse rapidly because they can move in all directions. And at higher temperature particles have high kinetic energy and thus the diffuse rapidly and can travel several meters. In case of cold or freezed food particles do not have sufficient kinetic energy and thus it can not be smelled in few meters even.
