Why there is a formation of a rainbow after showers ?

Rainbow is formed by the process of the dispersion of the white light or sunlight through tiny water droplets which are present after rainfall or rainshowers in the atmosphere.These small water droplets work as a prism and disperse the sunlight or white light into seven colors or the rainbow in the direction opposite to the sunlight.
During rainfall, the sun is hidden or covered by clouds so sunlight cannot strike the water droplets. hence, no rainbow formed during rainfall but is formed after rainfall.
