why was dere a  bloodstain on de floor near de fire place in canterville chase????
pls explain in detail and its significanse too!!

The lady of the chase had been killed by her husband many years ago. The ghost of the husband still moved about in the chase and he wanted to scare the Otis family into leaving. So he made the blood stain in order to frighten them.
