1. Hunting was encouraged by the Britishers in India as it served as a medium to meet the demand and need for animal meat and skin. Animal products such as the skin of tiger and its various parts had a high demand in Britain. Hunting was considered as big game by the Britishers and it became a sport for them.

Hunting resulted in the killing of more and more animals mainly tigers which reduced their numbers and brought them on the verge of extinction.
