why was Nana Sahib was upset with the British?

Nana Sahib was the adopted son of the exiled Peshwa Baji Rao II. After the Peshwa's death, Nana Sahib believed he was entitled to the pension that had been given the the Peshwa. But the East India Company refused to continue the pension. This was the reason why he was upset with the British.
