- after Germany defeat at the end of the First World war it was forced to accept terms, and give up anaxed lands which had an bad impression on it's people
- Treaty of Versailles with the Allies was a harsh and humiliating peace. Germany lostits overseas colonies, a tenth of its population, 13 per cent of its territories,iron and coal to France, Poland, Denmark and Lithuania.
- Germany was demilitarised to reduse it's power which made it's people think weimar republic as a weak govt.
- Germany was also forced to compensate about 6 billion pounds
- ManyGermans held the new Weimar Republic responsible for not only thedefeat in the war but the disgrace at Versailles.
