Why were the narrator and his companion impressed by the two boys ?

because both the boys were hard working and honest. they were not afraid of anything even the worst. and by which they were caring their sister is just fabulous and fantastic at the time at present where brothers did not care for their brother they cared for their sister very well.

 they wer impressed as the two of them did so many jobs

because of their - honesty , devotion, hard work and many other qualities

 demeanour ,  hard work , wiliingness to work ,self dignity ..................etc

The singularity of purpose and capacity to work hard of Nicola and Jacopo greatly impressed the narrator. they had all the great qualities of gentelmanliness.These were like love, devotion, capacity to work, honesty, fairness etc.

they were not complainin they were awesome

 they were impressed by the two boys because the two boys did their work very willingly the two small boys could do many things they proved themselves extremely useful to the narrator and his comapanion they could buy packets of ciggerettes seats for the opera and a name of a good resto. they made them very comfortable by doing such odd things
