why when magnet is cut into pieces each piece behaves as one complete magnet also when a magnet is suspended freely it always comes to rest in north south direction(MEANING) WHY??/

Magnetic properties are due to the motion of electrons in atoms. Therefore, even if the magnet breaks into two parts, then in each part again magnetic properties presents because of the atoms of that particular piece. So, again North & South poles will be created individually. Due to this reason, Magnetic mono poles does not exists.

Now, if you hang a bar magnet in air, because of the Earth magnetic field, the bar magnet orients in North - South direction always.
