Why would even death not able to free Aunt Jennifer from the shackles of her oppressive marriage ?

Dear student 

Burdened by the shackles of patriarchy, Aunt Jennifer will take her experiences with her to the grave. Even in death she will not be free as she will still be the wife of a man who tortured her. Chances are that she will be buried right next to her husband, signifying the undying bond they share through marriage. Death will not erase the memories and the experiences that she faced, they will only strengthen it.
