will the government intervene if some religious group says that their religion allows them to practise infanticide? give reason for ur answer

Indian principle of Secularism is not absolute, government in this case will surely interfere to ban the practise of infanticide since it is discriminatory and unjust.
For the purpose of reforming religion , government intervenes to ban practice of such beliefs which go against the very idea of fundamental right to life and dignity. Government has done it before as in case of abolishing sati, untouchability for the purpose of reforming Hindu religion.
The Government also provides for maternity benefits to all and most importantly, sex determination test a legal offence under the pre natal diagnostic law and provides for stringent punishment to those involved. Such is an effort on part of the government to check growing cases of  female infanticide.
