Sophie is a young school-girl belonging to a lower middle-class family. She wants to rise from the situation in which she finds herself. She  is an incurable dreamer and escapist. She dreams of opening a boutique. Her classmate Jansie, who had her feet firmly planted on the ground, tells Sophie that opening a boutique requires a lot of money and experience and she has neither of them. Sophie, who floats in a dreamy world of her own, dreams of becoming a fashion designer. She has dreams of a hero also. She develops fascination for Danny Casey, the wonder-boy of football. She sees him in action only once when he scores the second goal for United. She imagines him coming to her and tells her brother about the meeting. 

Sophie belongs to lower middle class family. She is a daydreamer and lives in her own fantasy world. She dreams to open a boutique shop but when jansie told him a boutique require money then Sophie said then she become actress or fashion designer and open a boutique on side bases. She thinks that money grows on the plant. She said she met Danny casey and when they went to see the match she is waiting for Danny casey to come and meet her and tell her brother that they even met before but Danny casey not come and she get disappointed.

Sophie is a young school going girl and she belongs to a lower middle class family,with various aspirations and dreams which is very much normal at her age.She wants to upgrade herself to a better position than she finds herself today.According to the story we find that sophie is an incurable dreamer and escapist as her dreams are not at par with her present socio-economic background.She dreams of owning a boutique first,but then when her classmate Jansie makes her realize that opening a boutique requires a lot of experience and money,she seems to be unaffected by the truth and tells her that she will be like Mary Quaint and she will get a job of a manager easily.Then after saving up enough money,she will buy a boutique,then she changes her mind of becoming a fashion designer and then an actress.She also has a huge fantasy over the Irish footballer Dany Casey and tells about meeting him to her brother Geoff and makes up false stories.

Sophie is a school going girl. She belongs from a lower middle class family. She is a day dreamer. She dreams which are not possible because she belongs from a poor family. When sophie was coming back from her school with her classmate (Jansie) she told her that I want to open a boutique then jansie interrupt her that boutique require a lot of amount and experience also. Then again sophie start seeing another dream then she thinks that I will do the job of manager in a company and do savings and collect money. Then again she start dreaming and think that she can be an actress or a fashion designer also and also handle boutique on other side. At last she cross all the limits and start dreaming that she met danney casey and they went to see match and she is waiting for another meet with danney casey. She also tell her brother that they even met before but  after waiting danney casey not come and she get disappointed.

Sophie comes from a poor background but her dreams are no match. She dreams of having a boutique and later her friend jansie says she lacks experience and money . Sophie doesn't conider d truth and continues to imagine of having a boutique.she also imagined to be a fashion designer or an actress.she imagined of meeting the famous Danny Casey which was beyond all her imagination and also tells it to her brother. This shows she is quite futuristic.
