Introduction

DIARY ENTRY OF A NERD ENTERING A NEW SCHOOL . HIS EXPEIRENCE ON THE FIRST DAY Dear Diary, Today was my first day in my new school and I would like to share my experiences with you. I had hardly slept during the night before, my mind full of excitement and pleasant thoughts about the new school, my heart swollen with pride, and my head floating in clouds. I had long envied boys in the new school - the way they dressed, the way they excelled in examinations, and the facilities they enjoyed for sports and other activities. And now I was about to join them. Looked like my ultimate wish come true! I thought I should be well dressed on my first day in school. So I wore my favourite polka dots shirt and red pants. To groom myself properly, I used lots of hair oil and wore my new big round spectacles, leaving for school with my pink bag in hand and high ambitions in heart. I was late for school - when I entered the class I saw about 25 students already seated. ...read more.

The co-ordinator gave them a long lecture about their noisy behaviour and the locked door of the class-room. The students, including the major culprits, profusely apologized for their misbehaviour (without meaning a single word of it!) so that I do not get an opportunity to complain to the teacher. Two good lectures followed, in which I answered a variety of questions ranging from how to improve the National Economy and the A-Z of complicated trigonometry. My exceptionally sharp answers left the mischievous students gaping in surprise for a while. I thought that the day was getting better, but I was gravely mistaken. Along with Rahul three other boys - Raj, Mohit and Neil- were determined to make me as miserable as possible. During the lunch break I was quietly eating green salad and boiled vegetables when they decided to tease me out of my wits. Rahul had a piece of paper with a letter - probably "k"- written on it. He passed the paper to Neil and began talking to me as if he was a sweet angel. ...read more.

Conclusion

They decided to tech me a lesson for my 'impudence'. Sir was taking rounds in the class and, when he was not looking at them, they threw a chit on him. The chit contained a couple of abuses and Sir was naturally furious when he read it. He read the chit aloud and shouted in anger,"Who has done this?'' Almost as a pre-plan, everyone named me. I pleaded innocence but he asked me to come to his office to hand me my expulsion letter. When he left, I again heard the loud, delirious laughter around me. I nearly broke down. Surprise of surprises, it was Rahul who came to my help at that time of crisis. I was shocked! He accompanied me to the Principal's office where he confessed the truth and his involvement in the incident. Sir was shocked but was pleasantly surprised at his honesty. He gave him a stern look and a warning but, because of his honest admission, he was allowed to go scot-free. That incident formed the basis of my close friendship with Rahul who thereafter became my protector. So diary as they say : 'ALL IS WELL THAT ENDS WELL"
