The Deccan Trap is a black soil area found in the peninsular plateau. This is one of the distinct features of peninsular plateau. This is of volcanic origin hence the rocks are igneous which means that the lava is cooled in it and it is also the largest lava plateau and it consists of igneous and important rivers. It has black fertile soil and minerals. Actually these rocks have denuded over time and are responsible for the formation of black soil.
