Write a report on celebrating eco friendly holi

Dear Student,

We recommend you to write such answers by using your own thoughts and ideas. However, you may consider some of the points given below:
  • This joyous festival is celebrated to welcome the spring season. The colours used in holi symbolise the different hues of the spring season.
  • In olden days colours which were used to play holi were natural. From the youngest to the eldest member of the family used to enjoy this colourful festival.
  • But today, like other festivals holi too has become commercial, boisterous and another reason for environmental pollution.
  • In earlier times, colours were prepared from flowers of the trees which blossom in spring season. In some parts of the country, in place of colours, people used to play with mud which comes from nature again. These colours are easy to prepare, use and clean and don't pose any threat to environment.
  • Over the years, with cutting down of trees in urban areas, hazardous dyes manufactured through chemical process are replaced by these natural colours. These colours contains toxic chemicals that can have severe health effects. They are easy to use but much difficult to clean.
  • In current situation, when most of the cities and villages are facing the scarcity of water, considering dry holi seems to be good idea rather than wasteful use of so much of water.
  • Various NGOs are trying to bring awareness about the environmental impacts of celebrating holi in unnatural ways.
  • We must put efforts to turn more and more Indians towards celebrating the natural and less wasteful holi.
Hope this information will clear your doubts about the topic.
