Dear student,

Here is the answer:

Bhakti means complete devotion to God.  Bhakti is a person’s devotion to his deity. The idea of Bhakti is present in the Bhagavad Gita. Bhakti emphasised devotion and individual worship of a god or goddess. It was believed that if a devotee worships the chosen deity with a pure heart, the deity will appear in front of him. It can be reached through prayer and meditation. Shiva, Vishnu and Durga emerged as the supreme deities, and were worshipped through elaborate rituals.
