mahajans of the eighteenth century ONCE they got the right to
collect the taxes, the bankers had to promise to pay a fixed SOME
of amount to the state THIS SYSTEM OF COLLECTION OF TAXES WAS KNOWN
AS THE IJADARI SYSTEM
