1. Advantage of using scale (Ruler)

a. Scale gives us accurate measurement compared to fingers.

b. Scale can be used to measure smaller distances that our fingers cannot measure. 

2. Scale is a rectangular strip of wood or metal or rod where we have marked distance that represent distances in certain unit. For example, a meter scale is 1 meter long and is divided in to 100 equal divisions. Each division is length of 1 centimeter. 

Unit is a chosen standard of measurement of a physical quantity that is universally accepted and readily available. Unit is same for all so it does not lead to confusion.  For example kilogram, meter, centimeter  are units of mass and length.
