Behaviorism:John Watson around 1990, rejected the ideas of mind and consciousness as subject matters of psych and was greatly influenced by physiologists like Ivan Pavlov.
For Watson, mind wasnt observable and introspection is subjective as it cant be verified by others.
Behaviourists in short considered pyschology as a study of behaviour or responses to stimuli which can be measured & studied objectively.
Gestalt:
It emerged as a reaction to structuralism of Wilhelm Wundt. It focussed on the organisation of perceptual experiences. The Gestalt psychologists argued that our perceptual experience is more than the sum of components of the perception or what we experience is more than the inpputs we recieve from the environment. Experience according to them is Holistic; it is a Gestalt.
