Fossil fuels are the substances obtained from the remains of dead plants and animals also called fossils.Example: coal, fuel oil or natural gas etc.These fuels are used to make electricity,heat buildings, drive automobiles etc.These are a major source of energy on earth but fossil fuels take millions of years to make. They are not renewable. Therefore, optimal use of these fuels should be encouraged. We can save fossil fuels by conserving energy.Another concern with the use of fossil fuels is the liberation of greenhouse gases (CO₂ etc).on burning of these fuels which leads to global warming and cause pollution too.Solar and wing energy are the sources which can be used as an alternative to fossil fuels.
