Dear  student,

The solutions to some of your queries have been provided below:

Passive absorption is a process where water is absorbed as a result of tension created by transpiration pull. It occurs mainly due to the activity of upper part of the plant such as shoot and leaves.

When cell is placed in a hypertonic solution water moves out, first from cytoplasm and then from vacuole. Cell membrane shrinks away from the cell wall. This is known as  plasmolysis.

According to the Munch’s mass flow hypothesis phloem sap moves from sugar sources to sugar sinks through turgor pressure. Due to the high concentration of organic substances inside source cells such as leaves there occurs a diffusion gradient which causes inward movement of water into the cells. This causes the movement of food from source to sink.

For remaining queries we request you to post them in separate threads to have rapid assistance from our experts.
