Write the character sketch of Dewan" and the tiger king.

The dewan was an acolyte of the Maharaja's, he knew the power he commanded over the latter and used it to its fullest advantage. The dewan comes across as corrupt and opportunistic. He was a clever man, married to two wives at the same time and quite a fixture in the Maharaja's court.

The tiger king or the Maharaja of Pratibandapuram was the hero of this story. He may be identified as His Highness Jamedar-General, Khiledar-Major, Sata Vyaghra Samhari, Maharajadhiraja Visva Bhuvana Samrat, Sir Jilani Jung Jung Bahadur, M.A.D., A.C.T.C., or C.R.C.K. His name was often shortened to the Tiger King because he was a man of indomitable courage who decided to kill all the tigers in his land so that he may not meet his end due to one as had been prophesied. The king was fearless but still given to believing in the superstitious myth that had been constructed around him. The man is made into a legend through the unbelievable stories surrounding his birth which already marks him out for a glorious reign. However, the story intends to bring out the irony of a king being finally felled by a toy tiger in spite of trying his best to protect himself from such a fate. It shows that no one is invincible or infallible when it comes to fate, not even a king. In other words, man cannot hope to supercede nature as in the end, he is only a part of it.
