write the character sketch of Ranga and the narrator?

Ranga: Ranga was the son of the accountant who had been sent to Bangalore for his studies. His homecoming was considered to be a great event because of his knowledge of English. Ranga was a well-mannered,educated boy who was respectful of his elders in spite of having studied away from his village. It was usually the custom that people who left home also left behind their customs and traditions at home. But Ranga's deference towards his elders as exhibited during his meeting with the narrator left him with no room for doubt about Ranga being different from the uppity present day boys.He was quite thoughtful of other people,as the narrator puts it: 'a generous, considerate fellow'. His education is displayed through his idea of an ideal wife who should not be a docile homebound beauty but someone who stimulates him intellectually and can be on a par with him. In general,we can sum him up as a mature, sensible young man with enough intelligence to be of service to society.

The narrator of this story is a fellow full of candour and a cheeky sense of humour as we see in the course of the story. Shyama who calls himself the narrator of this piece and a humble servant of the reader not only determines the course of the story but the characters' lives too. He shrewdly manipulates the people around him through his subtle trickery and cunning intelligence. In a way we are made to feel like we are in on his secret and comrades in his plan to unite Ranga and Ratna. Shyama the narrator unravels the story through meticulous attention to detail and an insightful knowledge of the life around him. He is astute in his observations regarding the life and times in which he lives.
