write the function of chitinous exoskeleton

Chitinous exoskeleton is present in arthropods.The functions of exoskeleton are;

1. Being tough,it protects arthropods against predators.
2. Forms jointed exoskeleton for muscle attachment.
3. Being impervious to water, it checks drying up of the body.
4. This has enabled arthropods to survive on land in almost any environment.
