Write the inference and result of this experiment. Topic- To find the solid proportions of a soil. Hint about experiment- Take a glass and put some soil in it and put some water in the soil and then mix it with a spoon and observe it for 2 minutes.

Dear student

Such question are meant to enhance your practical skills.
Try performing this experiment on your own by taking help from points below:
1. Take hand full of soil and put in a glass.
2. Pour some water in glass.
3. Mix the soil and water with help of spoon.
4. Leave it for 15 - 30 minutes.
5. Record your observation.

Hints for the report :-

Results and Observations - some particles from soil settle at bottom of glass. If mixed again, they will again dissolved in water but gradually with time settle down.
Inference - This is because soil is mixture of various components.
The basic components of soil are minerals, organic matter, water and air. The typical soil consists of approximately 45% mineral, 5% organic matter, 20-30% water, and 20-30% air. Out of these, minerals amd organic matter are solids which do not dissolve rapidly in water.
They will first settle down at bottom and very slowly with time get dissolved in water.
Water and air are liquid and and gases respectively. They will easily dissolved in water.
