Write three points about fertilizers and pesticides as important inputs in modern agriculture.

 

Fertilizers-

1-Fertilizer supplies nutrients to the soil that are essential for growth. Increased use of fertilizer and improved seeds are partially credited with the large increases in agricultural productivity growth in Asia during the Green Revolution in the 1960s.

2-Fertilizers provide crops with nutrients like potassium, phosphorus, and nitrogen, which allow crops to grow bigger, faster, and to produce more food.

3-Nitrogen in particular is an essential nutrient for the growth of every organism on Earth.

 

Pesticides-

1-Pesticides are used to control various pests and disease carriers, such as mosquitoes, ticks, rats and mice.

2-Pesticides are used in agriculture to control weeds, insect infestation and diseases.

3-Herbicides to kill or inhibit the growth of unwanted plants, also known as weeds.
