There are 6 basic nutrient present in almost every food that we eat. They are:
1. Water
  • It helps to regulate our temperature.
  • Blood and other body fluids mostly contain fluids which helps to carry nutrients around the body.
2. Carbohydrates
  • It is the main source of energy in body as they serve as basic fuel that power cells.
  • They regulate various metaboism of body.
3. Proteins
  • Building block of tissues which is used for growth, reapir and maintenance of body.
  • It alos provides energy to our body.
4. Fat
  • It is most concentrated source of energy as it orovides double amount of calories per gram.
  • It helps to insulate our body.
5. Vitamins
  • It regulate body metabolism.
  • Although required in lesser amount, but still required for growth, maintenance and builds immune system of body.
6. Minerals
  • It helps to build string bones.
  • Play a minor role in transmitting nerve impulses.

  • Increases the absorption of fat-soluble vitamins.
  • Helps in the synthesis of collagen.

  • They also help in maintaining the homeostasis of the body.
