Write your observations on the variations seen in the Darwin's finches. How did Darwin explain the existence of different varieties of finches on Galapagos Islands?

Variations seen in Darwin's fiches are an example of Adaptive Radiation.

Darwin's Finches are a group of black birds inhabiting Galapagos Islands .These birds show variations in beak forms and eating habits starting from the original seed eating ones to the ones with altered beaks enabling them to become insectivores and vegetarian also.

Darwin reasoned that the finches evolved on the island itself starting from the original variety at a geographical location and literally radiating to the other parts of the geography and developing the new features.

It's the best answer and to the point... I hope u will like it....thanks... 1) Darwin's finches shows variation in their beak due to adaptation to different foods habit. 2) Darwin's observed that there were many varieties of finches in the Galapagos islands and all varieties had evolved on the island itself from original seed eating finches. He explained that after originating from a common ancestral seed eating stocks the finches must have radiated to different geographical area and undergone adaptive changes especially in the type of their beaks.therefore due to the alterations in beaks gradually some became insectivorous and some vegetarian.Living in isolation for long the new kinds of finches emerged that could function and survive in the new habitat..
