Yellow elastic fibres are made of protein but they are unaffected on boiling ,how the protein is unaffected on boiling
Also will the fibres be functioning after boiling ??

Dear Student,

Yellow fibers or elastic fibers are extracted from the extracellular matrix of the connective tissue which are produced in arteries by fibroblasts and smooth muscles. It is composed of microfibrils consisting numerous proteins associated like glycoproteins, fibulin, fibrilin and elastin receptor and forms a network of cross-linking amorphous substance. Due to this property of cross-linking and chemical composition it easily resist denaturation (heating of proteins at high temperature losing the ability to function).
Thus, they can be able function properly where other proteins loss their ability of functioning.
